Bucharest, in the south of Romania, is the capital and the commercial center of the country. Its central monument is the gigantic Palatul Parlamentului, the Communist-era government palace that includes 1100 rooms. Not far away, the historic Lipscani district is characterized by a vibrant nightlife and is home to the small Eastern Orthodox Church of Stavropoleos as well as the 15th century Curtea Veche, where Prince Vlad III, nicknamed "the Impaler", reigned.

Caru 'cu bere 

(literally beer wagon) is a famous restaurant in Bavarian style located in the heart of Bucharest, built in 1879 and renovated in 1992. One hundred years ago the Caru' cu Bere was the place where the old aristocracy of Bucharest used to to meet. Famous literary men, playwrights, poets and actors met here. This sparkling environment was subsequently recreated and so the restaurant has retained its atmosphere and reputation over the years. It has live music every day and often it happens to attend dances and serenades together with customers with traditional Romanian music and entertainment. Appetizing traditional dishes are for sale, local wines are served and, of course, there is beer, lots of beer.

Caru 'cu bere (letteralmente Il Vagone di Birra) è un famoso ristorante in stile bavarese situato nel cuore di Bucarest, costruito nel 1879 e ristrutturato nel 1992. Cento anni fa il Caru 'cu Bere era il luogo dove la vecchia aristocrazia di Bucarest usava per incontrarsi. Uomini illustri letterati, drammaturghi, poeti e attori incontrati qui. Questo ambiente frizzante è stato successivamente ricreato e così il ristorante ha conservato la sua atmosfera e la reputazione nel corso degli anni. Dispone di musica dal vivo ogni giorno e spesso e volentieri capita di assistere a danze e serenate insieme coi clienti con musica tradizionale rumena e di intrattenimento. Appetitosi piatti tradizionali sono in vendita, vengono serviti vini locali e, naturalmente, c'è la birra, un sacco di birra.

 

Tipical food in Romania called “papanasi”.

Papanasi is a kind of sweet made from sweet cow's cheese, eggs, flour, semolina, bread and sugar. Normally they are served with cream and jam or just jam, finally they are sprinkled with sugar.

I papanasi sono una sorta di dolce a base di formaggio di mucca dolce, uova, farina, semolino, pane e zucchero. Normalmente vengono serviti con panna e marmellata o solo marmellata, infine vengono cosparsi di zucchero.

In Herastrau Park there’s a fantastic restaurant where you eat very delicious dishes.

Always in the Herastrau Park  there are stalls where you can eat corncobs and ice cream.

Sempre in Herastrau Park ci sono delle bancarelle dove si possono mangiare pannocchie e gelati.

They are called Covrigi and are so good!

Covrigi are Romanian baked goods similar to pretzels. They consist of salted bread topped with poppy seeds , sesame seeds or large salt grains. They do not usually contain any added sweeteners such as sugar.

Si chiamano Covrigi e sono così buoni!

I “Covrigi” sono prodotti da forno rumeni simili ai pretzel. Sono costituiti da pane salato condito con semi di papavero, semi di sesamo o grani di sale grosso. Di solito non contengono dolcificanti aggiunti come lo zucchero.
